Bartenders are not only beverage specialists but also ambassadors of our dining experience. By delivering exceptional drinks and personalized service, bartenders enhance the overall dining experience while maintaining the smooth operation of the bar.
Primary Responsibilities:
Guest Engagement and Service:
Provide a warm welcome to all guests, greeting them within 2 minutes of being seated at the bar. Act as both a server and bartender, offering the same hospitality expected for table guests. Explain the Baja inspired menu and Amasa's beverage program to guests, ensuring clarity and enthusiasm by highlighting the blue corn tortillas and the chef recommendation. Follow specific Amasa Mexican Kitchen Bar steps of service and guest greet standards. Confirm dietary restrictions or allergies before taking orders. Maintain polished table-side etiquette and professional guest interactions. Deliver food and drinks to coursing standards. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all ingredients, preparation methods, cooking times, and beverage pairings for dinner, brunch and lunch offerings. Provide personalized recommendations based on guest preferences, upselling where appropriate to enhance the dining experience. Share the story and inspiration behind Amasa Mexican Kitchen and the beverage offerings, creating a deeper connection with guests. Handle guest orders accurately using the POS system, coursing items to optimize both kitchen flow and guest experience. Communicate upcoming special events and offers to guests during their visit. Regularly pre-bus and reset the bar, keeping sections tidy and ready for the next course or guest. Attend all pre-shift meetings on time, actively engaging in discussions and taking detailed notes. Arrive well-groomed and adhere to Amasa's dress code for a polished and professional appearance. Must have reliable transportation. Must be able to work weekday lunch shifts, weekend brunch, shifts, week and weekend dinner shifts Must be able to work doubles from time to time. Be on time for all scheduled shifts, prepared to provide seamless service from the start. Participate in ongoing training, testing, and development to stay aligned with Amasa's evolving standards and offerings
Drink Preparation and Presentation:
Execute cocktails, mocktails, and other beverages to precise specifications, adhering to Amasas standards of accuracy and consistency. Utilize proper techniques for mixing, shaking, stirring, and garnishing as per the Amasa Mexican Kitchen bar program. Prepare all drinks with attention to detail, ensuring garnishes are visually appealing and align with standards. Maintain a strong knowledge of cocktail components, such as base spirits, modifiers, and accents, to craft balanced beverages. Batch cocktail recipes daily for faster service, and follow detailed instructions on all batched cocktail protocols.
Bar Maintenance and Organization:
Keep the bar area clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift. Maintain garnishes, glassware, and tools in a neat and accessible manner. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report any issues promptly. Restock supplies, spirits, and mixers as needed to support smooth service. Follow cleaning schedules for bar areas, coolers, and tools to maintain high standards of hygiene and functionality.
Beverage Knowledge and Sales:
Stay informed on all aspects of Amasas beverage program, including cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits. Educate guests about beverage pairings and suggest drinks that complement their meals. Confidently present specials, upsell high-value items, and encourage guests to explore unique offerings. Actively participate in beverage training sessions and tastings, taking detailed notes to deepen knowledge.
Team Collaboration:
Support fellow bartenders, servers, and team members during peak hours by running food, drinks, and completing shared tasks. Communicate effectively with managers, kitchen staff, and teammates to ensure seamless operations. Share knowledge with team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
