Job Description

Mezza Luna is seeking an experienced, professional Server/Bartender to join our team. We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of serving experience , preferably in an upscale, full-service, or fine-dining restaurant. This is primarily a serving position; however, employees working morning shifts must also be comfortable bartending . During weekday morning/lunch shifts, there may be only one front-of-house employee scheduled, so that person must be able to confidently handle the dining room and bar while providing excellent service to all guests. Requirements Minimum 2 years of serving experience Bartending experience required or strong working knowledge of bartending Experience in a full-service, upscale, or fine-dining environment preferred Strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and responsible alcohol service Comfortable working independently during morning shifts Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment Professional, dependable, friendly, and guest-focused Strong communication and teamwork skills Must be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays depending on scheduling needs Server Responsibilities Warmly greet guests and create a welcoming, professional dining experience Seat guests when necessary during shifts without a dedicated host Accurately take food and beverage orders Provide knowledgeable menu descriptions and answer questions regarding ingredients and preparation Make thoughtful food, wine, and beverage recommendations based on guest preferences Understand dietary restrictions and communicate special requests accurately to the kitchen Serve food and beverages efficiently and professionally Monitor tables throughout the dining experience and anticipate guest needs Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests or concerns Properly clear, reset, and maintain tables Maintain a clean, organized dining room and service areas Accurately process checks, credit card payments, and cash transactions using the POS system Work closely with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service Bartender Responsibilities Morning servers must be prepared to perform full bartending responsibilities when scheduled as the primary front-of-house employee.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages Follow established recipes and proper pour measurements Take food and beverage orders from bar guests Provide knowledgeable recommendations regarding wine, beer, and cocktails Check identification and comply with all alcohol-service laws Monitor guest alcohol consumption and practice responsible alcohol service Operate the POS system and accurately process payments Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper stocking of the bar Complete opening and closing duties Restock liquor, wine, beer, mixers, glassware, and other bar supplies as needed Communicate with the kitchen to ensure food orders are prepared and delivered efficiently Assist with setting up or breaking down the bar for special events when necessary What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who: Provides genuinely warm and attentive hospitality Is confident working independently Can manage several tables and bar guests simultaneously Has strong menu knowledge and is willing to learn our dishes thoroughly Can comfortably discuss wine and make pairing recommendations Can describe dishes in an informative and appetizing way Anticipates guest needs rather than waiting to be asked Remains calm and professional when handling guest complaints or difficult situations Works well under pressure Pays close attention to details Is dependable and arrives prepared and on time Works well with both front-of-house and back-of-house team members Takes pride in maintaining a clean and professional restaurant We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional who can provide polished table service while also being confident behind the bar when needed.

$2.15 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week
