Job Description

Veratina is a local restaurant close to Forsyth Park. Here, Italy and Savannah intersect. We're focused on creating unique, handcrafted dishes that awaken the palate while evoking nostalgia and comfort. We also pride ourselves on creating an elevated yet approachable experience. We're looking to hire team members who are kind, enthusiastic, upbeat, and proactive. Specifically, we're looking for a team member for our bartender/server position. Dinner shifts typically start at 4:00 p.m. Mondays through Sundays, and brunch shifts typically start at 9:45 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The successful candidate may be scheduled for any of the foregoing shifts as a bartender or as a server. Previous bartending experience is required. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: maintain strong working knowledge of a wide array of cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer (with an emphasis on Italian versions of all of the foregoing), greet guests, take dine-in orders, process payments, make change, answer the phone, take and prepare to go orders, serve drinks and food, prepare and serve standard, craft, and bespoke alcoholic beverages, bus and reset bar area, keep bar area clean, organized, and stocked, bus and reset tables, polish glasses, dishes, and silverware, use and maintain familiarity with our point of sale system (currently Toast), explain menu items to guests and maintain knowledge of all menu items, effectively communicate with guests and other staff, escalate guest feedback and complaints, provide exceptional service, ensure guests have a positive experience, check restrooms, keep restrooms clean and stocked, keep beverages, silverware, and napkins stocked, make coffee, espresso, cappuccino, and tea, move tables and chairs, check for and communicate guest preferences, requests, special occasions, allergies, and restrictions to managers and other staff, wipe down tables, chairs, and countertops, stock stations, sweep and mop front of house, clean windows, complete various shift opening and closing duties, and demonstrate a kind, positive, and upbeat demeanor. Pay consists of hourly wage plus tips when serving and hourly wage plus tips and tip outs when bartending.
