We are hiring a bartender to work behind a bar program built around Japanese spirits, seasonal house cocktails, and a guest experience held to the same standard as our omakase counter. This is a hands-on bar. Our menu includes original house cocktails developed in house, a Japanese whisky flight program featuring Teitessa single grain and Shunka Shuto seasonal expressions, sake, and a cocktail omakase flight. You will make drinks to spec, contribute to new ones, and serve guests directly at the bar. What you'll do Prepare cocktails, sake, wine, and beer service to Okonori's recipes and standards Serve and take care of guests seated at the bar, at the same level of attention as the dining room Execute daily prep: house syrups, infusions, garnishes, batching, and foams Maintain the bar's opening, closing, and downtime checklists — clean, stocked, and organized at all times Support the floor during service and communicate clearly with servers, hosts, and kitchen Manage inventory counts, rotation, and low-stock reporting to the bar lead Follow all Indiana alcohol service laws and check identification consistently What we're looking for Prior bartending experience in a full-service restaurant; fine dining or craft cocktail experience strongly preferred Working knowledge of classic cocktail technique, balance, and consistency — interest in Japanese spirits, sake, and whisky is a plus, and we will train Reliable attendance and punctuality; this is a small team where every shift matters Composed, polished, and attentive with guests — clear speech, professional presence, no shortcuts on hospitality Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs Valid Indiana alcohol server permit (or ability to obtain one before your first shift) Open availability preferred, including weekends and holidays Schedule Lunch service 12:00-2:30 PM and dinner service 4:30-9:30 PM through the weekdays. Shifts are scheduled around both services; weekend availability required.
