BARBACK WATERVILLE, ME Position Summary We need energetic, passionate people who care about great food and are enthusiastic about playing an integral role in ensuring overall guest service satisfaction. The ideal candidate for this position must be a mover and shaker, who moves with a purpose and hates standing still. Specifically, this position will work closely with the bartenders to keep the bar stocked and would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards. Essential Job Functions Be a core teammate in the restaurant, specifically at the bar. Ensure the bar is stocked with liquors, syrups, mixers, and garnishes. Restock needed service items at bar stations (i.e., kegs, ice, cut fruit, drink garnishes, clean glassware, napkins, straws). Continuously remove guests' soiled glassware, flatware, and plateware, as necessary. Polish clean glassware, flatware, and plateware. Wipe down the bar top surface and assist with resetting, as necessary. Maintain the overall cleanliness of the bar area. Restock and distribute menu, when needed. Maintain a vast knowledge of the bar menu to accurately answer guest questions. Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and other team members. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 50 lbs. on a continuous schedule. Ability to stand and to work continuously in confined spaces. Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges. Ability to effectively present information or respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule or recipe form.
