Poughkeepsie, NY Salary:
$22.00 per hour plus tips About the Role We are a growing Hudson Valley-based catering company seeking experienced, personable, and dependable Catering Bartenders to join our event team. Our bartenders work at weddings, private parties, corporate events, and other catered events throughout the Hudson Valley. You'll be responsible for creating a welcoming guest experience while maintaining an organized, professional, and efficient bar from setup through breakdown. The ideal candidate is outgoing, polished, able to work independently, and comfortable staying calm and organized during high-volume events. Key Responsibilities Bar Setup & Event Preparation- Set up event bars according to company standards and event requirements
- Organize liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and bar supplies
- Ensure the bar is clean, organized, stocked, and guest-ready prior to service
- Become familiar with event-specific beverage selections and service expectations Bartending & Guest Experience
- Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently and consistently
- Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to guests
- Maintain an attractive, clean, and organized bar throughout the event
- Work efficiently during high-volume service while maintaining quality and composure
- Communicate effectively with Event Captains, catering staff, and other team members Responsible Alcohol Service
- Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly and in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and recognize signs of intoxication
- Handle sensitive guest situations professionally and involve event leadership when necessary
- Follow all company alcohol service and safety procedures Breakdown & Inventory
- Break down and clean the bar at the conclusion of events
- Properly pack bar equipment, beverages, and supplies for return
- Complete liquor, beer, wine, and bar inventory as required
- Assist the event team with additional breakdown responsibilities as needed What We're Looking For Required
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Basic knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and standard cocktails
- Excellent communication and guest service skills
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Ability to follow direction while also working independently
- Reliable transportation to event locations
- Flexible availability, particularly evenings, weekends, and holidays Your existing description also requires bartenders to pass a Responsible Service of Alcohol Test with a score of 90% or better. Preferred (Not Required)
- Catering, wedding, banquet, or event experience
- Experience working high-volume bars
- Knowledge of wine and classic cocktails Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout an event
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, carry, and move throughout a shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and event environments
