Job Description
Front of House Shift LeadScreen Door is an iconic Portland restaurant built on nearly two decades of warm, genuine hospitality and a loyal clientele that is truly a pleasure to serve. We are looking for a Front of House Shift Lead to join our team.
This is not a desk job. 100% of your time is on the floor, primarily at the door where first impressions are made and guest flow is managed. Our dining room requires ingenuity and thoughtfulness to maximize capacity while maintaining the welcoming, relaxed service style we are known for.
What the Role Looks LikeStandard bartending responsibilitiesCocktail creation & R DLead service by hosting, seating, and overseeing the flow of the roomEnsure a high standard of hospitality throughout the shiftSupport servers and help resolve guest issues as they ariseOpen or close the restaurant depending on shift assignmentBalance floor awareness with smart, timely decision-makingWhat This Role is NotThis position does not involve HR responsibilities such as discipline, scheduling, hiring, or bar administrative duties. Those functions remain with the General Manager and the Assistant General Manager. This allows you to focus entirely on bartending, service, hospitality, and leading the room.
Why This Role is DifferentMany FOH leaders can work long hours for a flat salary that doesn't always match the earning potential of the rest of the staff. This position will provide compensation relative to hours worked and participates in the tip pool so you share directly in the success of the shift without the burden of HR management responsibilities.
