The River House at Odette's is seeking a Banquet Bartender/Server who is comfortable working in both roles based on the needs of each event. As a Banquet Bartender , you are responsible for preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for banquet guests, taking beverage orders, and serving requested items. Bartenders are expected to maintain a safe and relaxing atmosphere at the bar and throughout the banquet areas. While assisted by barbacks, bartenders are ultimately responsible for the service, organization, and cleaning of their assigned bar and sections. As a Banquet Server , you are responsible for handling face-to-face contact with banquet guests and providing attentive food and beverage service. Servers are directly responsible for serving all meal and beverage orders to their assigned section of guests. While assisted by bussers and runners, servers are ultimately responsible for the service and cleaning of their assigned tables and sections. We are looking for a versatile team member who can confidently work both banquet serving and bartending shifts as needed. Nights, weekends, and holiday hours are required.
Bartender Duties/Responsibilities:
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to safe food handling and serving of alcohol in all its forms (beer, wine, spirits).
- Provide world-class guest service by ensuring all drink orders are efficiently served to the guest and checking with the guests that their orders are correct; make any necessary corrections as quickly as possible.
- Confirm that all bar guests are of legal drinking age.
- Maintain safety by never overserving a bar guest.
- Offer friendly and warm greetings to all restaurant and hotel guests.
- Ultimately responsible for a fully stocked and clean bar area at the end of their shift regardless of being scheduled with a barback or assistant.
- Promptly take drink and food orders from their bar guests
- Correctly enter the guests' orders into the selected point of sale system or exercise proper cash handling procedures for cash only functions.
- Correctly prepare all drinks with correct amounts of ingredients and alcohol pours.
- Provide world-class guest service by ensuring all drink orders are efficiently served to the guest and checking with the guests that their orders are correct; make any necessary corrections as quickly as possible.
- Handle all food and beverage product in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards. Comply with all Federal, State, and Local laws concerning food handling and storing.
- Remove soiled plates, glassware, and silverware from assigned bars and sections as the guest finishes their drinks and meals.
- Perform daily and weekly cleaning assignments and maintain the work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Must be flexible and willing to work a varied schedule.
- Nights, weekends, and holiday shifts are required.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Offer friendly and warm greetings to all restaurant and hotel guests.

- Provide world-class guest service by ensuring all drink and food orders are efficiently served to the table and checking with the guests that their orders are correct; make any necessary corrections as quickly as possible.
- Handle all food in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards. Comply with all Federal, State, and Local laws concerning food handling and storing.
- Remove soiled plates, glassware, and silverware from assigned tables and sections as the guest finishes their drinks and meals.
- Perform daily and weekly cleaning assignments and maintain the work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Must be flexible and willing to work a varied schedule.
- Nights, weekends, and holiday hours required.
- Other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will possess the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Technical Skills:
We require at least 1 year of experience providing world-class guest service, bar service and mixology, beverage and bar industry trends and fashions, suggestive selling techniques, and correctly completed assigned non-service orientated duties. We require at least 1 year of experience providing world-class food service, table side service, addressing banquet event guest requests, food and beverage industry trends and fashions, and correctly completed assigned non-service orientated duties.
Customer Service and Professionalism:
Experience as or willingness to learn to be a role model and setting the standard for all staff to maintain high-quality and consistent customer service.

Must evaluate current practices and processes; immediately recognize potential areas of conflict; and suggest ways to improve current business methods and services provided.
Communication:
Commitment to details both verbally and non-verbally and ability to encourage cooperative and consistent levels of communication with the back of house staff, front of house staff and management. Must understand instructions, read written company information and communicate with little or no additional direction.
Interpersonal Relationships :
Highly developed empathy skills and ability to adapt to different personalities of guests, staff and outside vendors without losing focus. Must possess high professional ethics and avoid extreme familiarity or conflicts with others.
Conflict Management:
Capacity to recognize problems when they arise and be able to resolve them appropriately by using good judgement, tact, and initiative according to company policy and procedure especially when navigating the unique situations that arise from alcohol. Requires unbiased communication skills to handle all types of conflicts that will occur at all levels of supervision and the ability to negotiate effectively.
Perform General Physical Activities:
Ability to perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate to maximum strength including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, handling materials.
Flexibility:
