Bartender — Tempest Charleston Tempest is an upscale, coastal modern-American seafood restaurant in the heart of Downtown Charleston. We're known for our seasonal menu, charcoal-roasted preparations, and a dining room anchored by our iconic stained-glass ceiling — but what we're most proud of is the experience we create for our guests every night. Our team brings that same intentionality to every interaction at the bar. About the Role We're looking for a bartender who loves what they do. Someone who finds genuine satisfaction in a well-made drink, a smooth service, and a guest who leaves better than they arrived. You don't have to take yourself too seriously — but you take your craft seriously. You're technically skilled, curious about the beverage program, and comfortable holding your own in a high-energy environment without losing your warmth or composure. Compensation Training shifts:

Post-training:

$5/hr guaranteed minimum + tips (most shifts earn well above this) What You'll Do Craft and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and zero-proof beverages with consistency and care Keep your bar clean, stocked, and running smoothly throughout service Use our POS system (Toast) accurately and efficiently Welcome every guest with attentive, intuitive hospitality — whether they're regulars or first-timers Communicate clearly with the kitchen and FOH team to keep service seamless Pitch in on inventory, restocking, and ordering as needed Represent Tempest's standards for quality, pacing, and guest experience at every shift What We're Looking For Solid bartending experience in an upscale or high-volume setting Strong cocktail, wine, and spirits knowledge — and a genuine interest in continuing to grow A natural ability to connect with guests and communicate with your team Comfort with POS systems (Toast experience is a plus) Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service Attention to detail with cash handling and basic math Fine dining, craft cocktail, or banquet experience is a bonus, but passion and professionalism go a long way here We're a chef-driven, team-oriented restaurant group that takes hospitality seriously and takes care of the people who represent it.
