Assistant General Manager - Upscale Restaurant Charleston, SC A high-volume restaurant group in Charleston is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant General Manager to support daily operations and help lead a busy upscale dining environment. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who enjoys working on the floor, developing teams, and contributing to a fast-paced operation focused on service, consistency, and execution. The Assistant General Manager will work closely with senior leadership to support staffing, shift operations, guest experience, and overall restaurant performance. Primary Responsibilities Support all front-of-house operations during daily service Assist in leading managers, supervisors, and hourly team members Help maintain service standards, cleanliness, and operational consistency Monitor labor performance, staffing levels, and scheduling needs Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives Assist with inventory management, product ordering, and supply organization Support guest recovery efforts and handle service issues professionally Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and health department standards Help oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and shift execution Lead by example on the floor during high-volume service periods Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily operational priorities Support private dining events, large reservations, and VIP guest experiences Work collaboratively with ownership and senior operations leadership on business initiatives and restaurant goals Qualifications 3-5+ years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume environment AGM Experience in upscale casual or polished dining preferred Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and develop teams Excellent communication and organizational skills Working knowledge of scheduling, labor controls, and restaurant financial basics Comfortable with Toast POS systems, scheduling platforms, and other hospitality software Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest experience Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Professional demeanor with a hands-on management style Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed Ability to work in a high-energy restaurant environment throughout scheduled shifts About the Opportunity This is an opportunity to join a growing hospitality organization with a strong presence in one of the Southeast's premier dining markets.
