We are seeking an energetic, professional, and guest-focused Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. This individual will play a key role in creating exceptional guest experiences through expert beverage preparation, personalized service, and adherence to the luxury standards that define the Hotel ZaZa brand. Position Overview The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service to guests while creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere within the restaurant, lounge, patio, and other Food & Beverage outlets. This position ensures all beverages are prepared accurately, presented professionally, and served in accordance with Hotel ZaZa service standards and applicable alcohol service regulations. The ideal candidate is personable, knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and guest service. Key Responsibilities Welcome and engage guests in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with established recipes and service standards. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and specialty beverage offerings. Provide beverage recommendations based on guest preferences and menu selections. Accurately process beverage and food orders through the Point-of-Sale (POS) system. Maintain proper cash handling and payment processing procedures. Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure responsible alcohol service in accordance with TABC regulations. Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked bar areas throughout each shift. Prepare garnishes, mixers, syrups, and other bar ingredients as needed. Conduct opening, closing, and side work duties according to established procedures. Support restaurant servers and service staff to ensure seamless guest experiences. Maintain inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to management. Assist with inventory counts and product rotation activities. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Assist with banquet events, VIP functions, private dining experiences, and special events as needed. Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary. Attend departmental meetings and required training sessions. Comply with all company policies, brand standards, and safety procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Preferred Qualifications Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, hotel, resort, nightclub, or upscale dining environment. Luxury hotel or fine dining experience preferred. Extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and craft cocktails. Experience using POS systems. Food Handler Certification and TABC Certification, or the ability to obtain required certifications. Experience creating specialty cocktails and upscale beverage presentations. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, carry, and lift items regularly. Ability to lift and carry cases, kegs, beverage supplies, and bar equipment weighing up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume hospitality environment. Manual dexterity required to prepare beverages, operate POS equipment, and safely handle glassware and bar tools. Work Environment Restaurant, lounge, patio, banquet, and hotel food service outlets. Frequent interaction with guests, vendors, and team members. Fast-paced hospitality environment with varying levels of activity. Day, evening, weekend, holiday, and special event shifts may be required.
