The Rook | McKinney, TX The Rook is a members' community built around live music. We are not a high-volume bar. We are not a typical restaurant. Most nights feature live music, but we also host comedians, guest speakers, wine dinners, and other curated events. Every night is different. The standard is not. We offer a full food menu alongside our bar program, so this role includes both service and bartending responsibilities depending on the night. What This Role Is You are responsible for the member experience in the room, whether that is a quiet listening set, a comedy night, or a dinner service. That means Delivering service that complements the experience, not disrupts it Reading the room and adjusting your pace, tone, and presence without being told Anticipating needs without hovering Operating comfortably in both performance-driven and dinner-style environments Who This Is For Someone who Has strong situational awareness and does not need constant direction Understands timing matters, especially during live performances Can be polished and engaging without being overbearing Takes pride in being part of something one of one Who This Is Not For This is not a fit for someone who Prefers loud, high-volume bar environments Needs constant instruction Treats this like a typical restaurant shift Responsibilities Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages Provide full-service food and beverage service to members and guests Ensure proper timing of food and drinks with the flow of the room Maintain a clean and organized bar and service area Work closely with the kitchen to ensure smooth service Handle transactions accurately through POS Follow all health and safety standards Experience Bartending or serving experience preferred. Private club or hospitality background is a plus Solid knowledge of basic cocktails and service fundamentals Strong communication and professionalism Details Part-time Evening and night shifts, typically 6 to 10 hours $15 per hour plus tips In person in McKinney, TX Final Note We are selective.
