We are looking for an experienced, polished, and hospitality-minded Bartender to join our team. This is much more than a traditional behind-the-bar position. Our Bartenders are an important part of the overall dining experience, serving guests seated at the bar, preparing beverages for the dining room, and engaging directly with dining room guests through thoughtful and knowledgeable wine and cocktail recommendations. The ideal candidate is confident behind the bar, comfortable engaging with guests throughout the restaurant, knowledgeable about cocktails and wine, and genuinely passionate about hospitality. What You'll Do Provide polished, attentive, and knowledgeable service to guests seated at the bar. Prepare classic, craft, and signature cocktails with consistency, precision, and proper presentation. Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests throughout the dining room. Walk the dining room and engage guests through thoughtful suggestive selling of cocktails and wine . Make informed beverage recommendations based on guest preferences, menu selections, and occasion. Demonstrate a strong understanding of cocktail preparation, spirits, liqueurs, bitters, modifiers, and proper cocktail technique. Maintain a working knowledge of the restaurant's wine program and confidently guide guests toward appropriate selections. Develop familiarity with our Israeli wine selection, mevushal wines, and our selection of non-mevushal wines. Learn and confidently navigate the restaurant's intricate food menu in order to make thoughtful food-and-beverage pairing recommendations. Maintain the bar according to exacting fine-dining standards throughout service. Complete all necessary bar preparation, including garnishes, juices, syrups, mixers, batching, and other mise en place. Maintain proper inventory levels and communicate shortages or needs to management. Restock the bar and service areas throughout the shift. Maintain clean, polished, and properly organized glassware and bar tools. Execute opening and closing procedures accurately and thoroughly. Maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation of the bar, equipment, and surrounding service areas. Follow responsible alcohol-service practices and all applicable laws and restaurant policies. Communicate effectively with management, servers, kitchen staff, and fellow bartenders. Anticipate guest and team needs rather than waiting to be asked. Contribute to a warm, professional, and welcoming atmosphere for both guests and fellow team members. Represent Casa Bar and Grill with professionalism, discretion, and genuine hospitality at all times.
What We're Looking For Required:
Minimum 2 years of professional bar experience . Previous experience in fine dining, upscale dining, or a high-touch hospitality environment strongly preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older . Current Texas Food Handler Certification . Current T.A.B.C. Certification . Demonstrated knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails and professional cocktail preparation. Strong working knowledge of spirits, liqueurs, bitters, modifiers, and cocktail techniques. Wine knowledge above a basic level , with the ability to confidently discuss wine styles, varietals, and make appropriate recommendations to guests. Willingness and ability to learn an intricate Kosher fine-dining food and beverage menu . Strong understanding of suggestive selling and the ability to naturally recommend cocktails, wine, and other beverages without making guests feel pressured. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistency. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to remain composed, gracious, and attentive in a high-volume, detail-oriented environment. Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds . Reliable and dependable attendance. Availability to work approximately 30-35 hours per week , primarily evenings. Availability to work Sunday through Thursday . Friday and Saturday off. The Person We're Looking For Experience and technical skill are important to us, but so is character . We are looking for a Bartender who understands that fine-dining bartending is about far more than making a good drink. It is about reading the guest, understanding the occasion, knowing when to engage, and knowing when to give a guest space. The right person can confidently discuss a cocktail, recommend a wine, explain a beverage, or suggest a pairing while maintaining a warm and natural conversation. You should be comfortable leaving the bar to interact with guests in the dining room and view suggestive selling as an opportunity to enhance the guest's experience , not simply increase a check. Compensation An hourly wage + participation in the restaurant's tip pool according to a set tip-pool scale. Tip-pool distributions and total compensation are administered in accordance with applicable federal and Texas wage requirements.
