Why This Role Matters The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages while creating a welcoming and engaging guest experience. This role plays a key part in maintaining smooth bar operations, ensuring compliance with alcohol service laws, and supporting the overall success of the restaurant. What You'll Do Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and guest preferences Provide excellent guest service by fostering a friendly, professional, and welcoming atmosphere Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the bar and surrounding areas Follow all state, local, and company guidelines for responsible alcohol service and guest safety Restock, rotate, and maintain bar inventory, ensuring accuracy and freshness of products Handle cash, credit card, and POS transactions accurately and responsibly Assist with opening and closing duties, including setup, breakdown, and side work Support team members in ensuring smooth front-of-house operations Demonstrate and uphold all TRAPCHK core values of teamwork, respect, accountability, professionalism, communication, honesty, and kindness What's In It For You Competitive pay ($17.13/hr. + tips) Medical insurance - 80% employer paid after 60 days (with qualifying hours) 401(k) with company match (eligible after 1 year of service) Voluntary dental and vision coverage Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Paid sick leave (per WA state/local laws) Employee meal discounts Opportunities for advancement within a growing restaurant group Supportive, team-oriented culture
Requirements:
What You Bring to the Table Previous experience as a bartender or in a related role preferred Strong knowledge of mixology, drink recipes, and bar equipment Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Must be at least 21 years of age Valid Washington State MAST (Mixologist/Alcohol Server Training) Permit required prior to first day of work High school diploma or equivalent preferred Physical Demands & Work Environment Regularly required to stand, walk, and reach throughout the shift Frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance Work performed in a bar and restaurant environment with exposure to alcohol, cleaning chemicals, hot/cold surfaces, and moderate noise levels Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including non-slip footwear, is required Compliance & Equal Opportunity This role is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
