BARBACK - THE BACK DOOR
The Back Door is hiring a Barback to support our bartenders during Friday and Saturday night service.
Pay:
$10.00 per hour
Schedule:
Friday & Saturday, 4:00 PM-2:00
AM Hours:
Approximately 20 hours per week About the Position The barback's main responsibility is simple: keep the bartenders moving. This is a support position. You will not pour or serve alcoholic beverages. Your job is to make sure the bartenders have the liquor, ice, glassware, supplies, and clean workspace they need throughout the night. Responsibilities Restock liquor, mixers, garnishes, and bar supplies. Quickly retrieve bottles and supplies for bartenders during service. Haul, refill, and stock ice throughout the shift. Wash, polish, and put away glassware, dishes, and bar tools. Keep the bar and surrounding work areas clean throughout the entire shift. Clean spills and remove trash, empty bottles, and used glassware. Keep coolers, shelves, and service areas organized and stocked. Take drink orders when directed and accurately relay them to the bartender. Anticipate what bartenders need and respond quickly when asked. Assist with opening, closing, and bar cleanup duties. What to Expect This is a physical, hands-on job in a busy cocktail bar.
You should be comfortable:
Standing and moving for the entire shift. Lifting and carrying cases, bottles, ice buckets, trash, and supplies. Working around wet floors, glassware, ice, and tight spaces. Working in a loud and crowded environment. Moving quickly while staying organized. Working late nights until approximately 2:00 AM. Cleaning continuously, not just at the end of the night. We are looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, attentive, and willing to take direction. You should be able to recognize what needs to be done and help keep service running without constantly being told what to do.
Experience:
Bar or restaurant experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate.
Availability:
Applicants must be consistently available Friday and Saturday from 4:00 PM-2:00 AM. Location The Back Door 767 N.
