We are seeking experienced, professional, and dependable Banquet Captains to lead our event teams for both on-site and off-site catered events throughout Southern California. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who is confident managing event staff, understands proper banquet service, can follow a BEO, and is comfortable making decisions and problem-solving during an event.

Responsibilities:

Lead, direct, and manage banquet staff throughout events Review and execute events according to BEOs and event timelines Delegate staff assignments and oversee setup, service, and breakdown Coordinate and execute plated, buffet, tray-passed, and beverage service Communicate professionally with clients, planners, vendors, kitchen staff, and management Monitor service standards, timing, presentation, and guest experience Troubleshoot and resolve issues professionally during events Train, coach, and support serving staff Ensure company procedures and service standards are followed

Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of Banquet Captain, Event Lead, or banquet management experience required Off-site catering experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of plated and buffet-style service Ability to read and execute a BEO and event timeline Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to confidently delegate and manage a team Able to remain professional and make decisions in a fast-paced event environment Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Food and beverage knowledge preferred Good driving record

Availability:

This is a part-time event-based position. Candidates must have flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Hours will vary depending on the event schedule.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry 25-50 lbs Ability to carry and balance food and beverage trays of various sizes Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Comfortable working both indoor and outdoor events

Banquet Captains represent our company directly to clients and guests, so a professional appearance and demeanor are required.

White collared button-down dress shirt Black tie Black slacks Black non-slip shoes No visible logos or graphic details

Compensation:

$25.00-$30.00+ per hour, including gratuity Part-time | Flexible, event-based scheduling Please apply only if you have previous banquet leadership or event captain experience.
