WORK SCHEDULE

Varies Principle Responsibilities/Position Purpose:

The buffet carving station attendant is responsible for maintaining the carving station, ensuring food presentation, replenishing items, and assisting guests. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in food handling and service. Collaborating with kitchen staff. Supporting overall dining operations by assisting with setup and breakdown of the buffet during service times. Assisting guest by providing information about buffet food options and carving requested items and servicing the guests. Greeting guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain different buffet options for carving for guest awareness. Have a complete understanding of buffet options.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company. Attend required meetings. Folding napkins for all meal periods throughout the day to maintain an adequate supply. Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking side stands. Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards. Perform other duties as requested, cleaning unexpected spills, handling special guest requests, greeting and seating guests and ensuring guest satisfaction.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required. Six months experience in a customer service, related industry preferred, busser.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

Carving station attendant must obtain any government required licenses or certificates, for example, California Food Handlers. CPR/First Aid preferred.
