Cafeteria Cook / Baker Helper

Job Description

Job Summary Under immediate supervision of the cook/baker and under general supervision of the Food Services Director, serves as assistant cook/baker in the preparation and serving of food. Assists in cleaning food service areas, utensils, dishwashers, and all equipment. Rotates stations on the serving line and prepares salads and dressings. Assists in doing daily paperwork and assumes duties of cook/baker in their absence. This position is assigned to the afternoon shift and will travel to various school sites within the District to provide food service for the districts after-school program. Travel between school sites during the workday is required. Requirements /

Qualifications Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• First aid card and CPR certification required. May be obtained within six months after hire.

Experience:

• At least six months in position as food handler, server, or preparer.

• Experience working in and around food preparation areas, preferably in a school setting. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice as well as a physical clearance are conditions of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
