6 Billerica, MA Job Details Part-time $20 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Customer service Full Job Description Both Substitute and Part Time Positions Available. The hourly rate of pay is $20.00.Substitute Cafeteria Worker positions are on-call for School Nutrition to fill in on an as needed basis. Scheduled hours are based on school specific need, typically 34 hour shifts (may vary). These positions are on call, hourly and do not include employee benefits.

Part-Time, permanent positions, may be available, typically 3-5 hour shifts per school day (may vary) and within the collective bargaining agreement
Tasks/Duties Include:
  • Performs a variety of tasks/duties related to the Billerica School Nutrition Program
  • Excels at maintaining a positive Customer Service experience for all students
  • Performs duties involved in the safe preparation and handling of food, cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities, and serving of food
  • Prepare foods for menus following USDA regulations, recipes and serving sizes
  • Operate kitchen equipment for food preparation, serving meals, sanitation, dishwasher, POS (point of sale), etc.effectively
  • Adhere to safe and sanitary working practices and procedures, while understanding and differentiating between tasks
  • Maintain all kitchen facilities in an orderly, clean and sanitary condition
  • Set up, maintain and clean serving/kitchen areas as assigned
  • Serve student meals (breakfast and lunch) to students as scheduled
  • Adhere to uniform procedure (Billerica School Nutrition uniform top supplied)
Required:
  • Work history and a minimum of 2 references
  • Must be able to stand for duration of work shift
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs
  • Must have access to transportation (Substitute Caf Workers may be asked to work at any/all 8 Billerica Public School buildings
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instruction
  • Communicate both verbally and written with students and adults effectively
  • Works as a member of the Billerica Public Schools
  • School Nutrition Team
  • Maintain a positive Customer Service experience for all students, including but not limited to assisting students in the cafeteria serving area
  • Must be willing to complete required and/or necessary training for the USDA School Nutrition Program
  • Performs and responsible for other general duties as assigned by the Cook Manager and Director of School Nutrition or designee and policies of the Billerica School CommitteeContinuous service as a substitute will be credited toward placement on the salary scale.
Such service must be on a full school year basis and will apply only to workers who go from substitute to permanent status. Broken substitute service shall not be credited toward placement on the salary schedule.
