SALARY (Non negotiable)

$17,111 - $26,652 includes employee benefits package

Paygrade 3

HOURS

10 months, 6-7 hours per day, 182 annual days

Contract Unit:

This position is part of the non-supervisory support services bargaining unit.

FLSA:

Non-exempt

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Successful completion of Serv-Safe Sanitation Class

SNA (School Nutrition Association) certification or working toward certification

Successful completion of most recent annual USDA Professional Development Standards for Food Service Professional

General knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing and serving food on a large scale

General knowledge of the use or care of food preparation equipment

Skill in the use of standardized and specialized kitchen utensils and equipment

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, food preparation instructions, and menus

Knowledge of health and sanitation regulations for food preparation

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, students and school staff

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and after school meals to the student population.

Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious foods in accordance with the menu and ala carte food items.

Wash cooking equipment and utensils.

Operate dishwasher, mixer, chopper, slicer, steamers, ovens and other food service and mechanical equipment.

Receive and stock food supplies. Maintain sanitary conditions.

Serve as cashier.

Monitor and replenish the serving lines as needed.

Clean and prepare food and equipment in compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Clean and store utensils and equipment.

Follow standards of safety in preparing, storing, and serving food.

Follow instructions in portioning and serving meals.

Responsible for opening storage facilities as assigned.

Attend job related training classes and workshops.

Assist with preparing and serving meals to staff and faculty on an as needed basis for catering services

Perform related work as required.
