Description:
The Banquet Captain is responsible for leading banquet service during assigned events while ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient service execution, and adherence to AC Hotel standards. This role serves as the on-floor leader for banquet operations and acts as the primary point of contact between service staff, culinary, and event hosts throughout each function. The Banquet Captain models professionalism, hospitality, and teamwork while maintaining high standards of food quality, beverage service, presentation, and cleanliness.
Essential Responsibilities:
Event Execution Lead banquet staff during all assigned events. Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate event expectations. Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) prior to each event. Ensure rooms are properly set according to diagrams and client specifications. Coordinate event timing with Culinary. Monitor food quality and presentation. Maintain service standards throughout the event. Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly. Supervise event breakdown and room reset. Team Leadership Direct banquet servers and bartenders during service. Delegate responsibilities effectively. Coach associates in real time. Hold team members accountable for service standards. Promote a positive and collaborative work environment. Operational Excellence Ensure compliance with food safety and alcohol service policies. Maintain cleanliness of banquet spaces and storage areas. Verify equipment is operational before events. Assist with inventory of banquet supplies. Complete opening and closing responsibilities. Guest Experience Build relationships with event hosts. Anticipate guest needs. Deliver polished and personalized service. Represent the AC Hotel brand professionally.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
: Minimum 2 years banquet or restaurant leadership experience. Strong organizational skills. Excellent communication. Ability to lead large service teams. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Food Handler Certification. Alcohol Server Certification.
