N/A Job Summary:
To prepare and serve nutritious meals for Saluda students and staff in an efficient, safe, and inviting cafeteria environment.
Essential Functions:
1. Prepare and serve meals. Assist the manager and other food service workers with food preparation tasks as assigned by the cafeteria manager. 2. Handle food service records as assigned. Collect and count money for meals and supplemental items. 3. Assist with kitchen operation. Clean, which may consist of washing dishes, sweeping and mopping Maintain equipment. 4. Follow the work schedule provided by the cafeteria manager. 5. Communicate appropriately within the school environment. Help maintain an inviting cafeteria atmosphere. Maintain appropriate confidentiality.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
1. High school diploma preferred. 2. Previous experience in food service preferred.
Terms of Employment:
10 months part time
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of Board of Education policy, North Carolina statutes, and goals established by the Principal and the cafeteria manager.
Environmental Factors:
This position requires the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects, walking up and down steps, stooping, squatting, kneeling, standing for extended periods of time, having hands in water for dishwashing and cleaning, handling cleaning agents.
