Job Description
We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and organized Breakfast Attendant to join our team for the NEW Fairfield Inn, opening soon . The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and replenishing the hotel breakfast area while providing courteous guest service and ensuring food safety, cleanliness, and presentation standards are consistently maintained. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, maintain a clean and welcoming breakfast area, and communicate professionally with guests and fellow team members. Breakfast Attendant Responsibilities Prepare breakfast foods such as eggs, sausage, bacon, waffle batter, and other menu items according to hotel standards. Set up and arrange breakfast items for self-service. Stock and maintain coffee, juice, milk, and other beverage machines or dispensers. Arrange items such as muffins, pastries, cereals, breads, condiments, and other breakfast selections. Monitor food and beverage levels throughout breakfast service and replenish items as needed. Clear and clean tables as guests leave the breakfast area. Promptly clean spills and maintain floors, counters, tables, and service areas in a clean and safe condition. Remove trash and replace liners as needed. Wash, sanitize, and properly store serving utensils, trays, containers, and breakfast equipment. Properly label, date, rotate, and store reusable food products. Follow proper food-handling, storage, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures. Follow all applicable city, county, state, and federal food safety and health regulations. Take inventory of food, beverages, paper products, and other breakfast supplies. Notify management of low inventory levels and assist with ordering or purchasing supplies as directed. Break down, clean, and organize the breakfast area at the conclusion of service. Provide professional, friendly, and courteous service to guests. Assist guests with questions regarding breakfast offerings and hotel services when appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous customer service, food service, hospitality, or breakfast attendant experience preferred, but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to cleanliness, food presentation, and detail. Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to safely follow food preparation, storage, sanitation, and chemical-handling procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with guests, associates, and management. Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays based on hotel needs. Physical Requirements Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift. Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying. Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 20 pounds. Ability to perform repetitive food preparation, stocking, cleaning, and service tasks throughout the scheduled shift. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position throughout the scheduled shift.
