Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Perform a variety of duties and tasks related to the cleanliness and sanitization in food service units under the direct supervision of the Building Manager or their designee. Possess the ability to work with co-workers including student employees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Scour, wash and sanitize pots, pans, and utensils used in food service units. Properly operate and maintain cleanliness/sanitation of dish machine and dish room. Clean china, silverware, trays, glassware and return to proper service locations. Clean garbage cans and dispose of garbage. Assist in recycling boxes, etc. and store garbage to await collection. Scour and clean tables, kitchen equipment, bakery carts, and fixtures. Transport china, silverware, pots, utensils, etc. to and from proper serving/storage locations. Transport Dining Service equipment, stock and supplies to and from storage places. Assist in wiping tables and cleaning and vacuuming dining room during nonpeak serving periods. Assist in arrangement of dining area equipment. Wash, mop, and scrub floors and wash walls in the pot/pan and dishroom areas. Assist in the guidance of student workers in the performance of their duties. Be knowledgeable in the proper use of detergents, chemicals, etc. used in pot washing, dishmachine operation, and general cleaning. Maintain appearance and hygiene within stated Auxiliary Services and health department guidelines. Perform duties in accordance with established safety practices. Perform other similar or related tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to lift 75 pounds. High School Diploma or Equivalent
