As a Food Truck Helper, you will assist with food preparation, maintain a clean and organized workspace, operate POS systems, and ensure every customer has an exceptional experience. Duties Assist in food preparation by chopping, assembling ingredients, and following safety standards to ensure quality and freshness. Operate POS systems such as Square etc. to process sales accurately, handle cash register operations, and manage retail transactions. Engage with customers in a friendly manner, taking orders, upselling menu items, and providing excellent food service customer order management. Maintain cleanliness of the workspace by cleaning utensils, equipment, and food prep areas regularly to meet sanitation standards. Support operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, fryers, and refrigeration units. Manage food handling procedures in accordance with food safety management practices to ensure health standards are upheld. Assist with other duties as needed such as clearing orders during busy service times to keep the truck organized and efficient. Skills Proven experience in food preparation, quick service restaurants, or fast food environments with a strong understanding of food safety protocols. Familiarity with POS systems for sales processing and cash handling. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders swiftly during peak hours. Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining a positive attitude. Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to sanitation standards. Basic math skills for processing cash transactions accurately and managing retail math calculations.
