In this role, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of made-to-order food items, including bagel sandwiches, wraps, avocado toasts, and other light café fare. You will maintain high food quality standards while keeping your station clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout your shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and assemble food items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., toaster ovens, microwaves, etc.). Ensure all food items are fresh, properly stored, and rotated according to food safety guidelines. Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation throughout the shift. Restock ingredients and supplies as needed during service hours. Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper hand washing and use of gloves. Work collaboratively with front-of-house and back-of-house team members to ensure smooth service. Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning, equipment checks, and inventory. Communicate any inventory shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the manager promptly.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a food service or prep cook role preferred but not required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Strong time management and organizational skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and handle kitchen tools and equipment. Comfortable working in a hot or fast-paced kitchen environment.
