Mako's Market and Pharmacy is in search of a motivated Meat Department Team Member and Meat Cutter. Will train! Opportunity for growth! Performs work in all areas of the Meat Department at the direction of the manager. Cuts, wraps, and prepares meat items; prepares customer orders; performs suggestive selling; dates, weights, and packages product; assists customers with order selection; communicates with vendors and customers; logs spoilage and waste; maintains product freshness; maintains a safe and clean work environment; unloads product from trucks; stages stock in the backroom, cooler, and freezer; stocks products on racks and shelves up to six feet high; operates slicers, saws, mechanical price marking devices, knives, case cutters and stock dollies; and performs other duties as assigned.

Required:

Previous experience as a meat cutter (if applying as meat cutter) Ability to work up to eight hours per day Ability to read, write, add, subtract, and multiply Ability to lift up to 80 pounds Ability to reach and stock items up to six feet high Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, including recipes Ability to operate stock dollies, saws, stuffers, slicers, scales, pricing devices and knives Ability to pull or push wheeled vehicles weighting up to 500 pounds Ability to communicate clearly with customers and vendors Positive attitude and experience providing a high level of customer service.
