We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Gelato Chef / Ice Cream Maker to join our kitchen team. You will be responsible for daily gelato production, recipe preparation, ingredient weighing, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace that meets food safety standards.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and balance gelato mixes following recipes and flavor formulations Operate gelato batch freezers, pasteurizers, and display cabinets Weigh and mix ingredients with precision for consistent quality Clean and sanitize equipment and production areas daily Manage stock of ingredients and report inventory needs Assist in flavor development and seasonal menu planning Ensure food safety and quality standards are met at all times
Qualifications:
Previous experience in ice cream, gelato, or pastry production preferred (training available for the right candidate) Knowledge of food preparation and safety procedures Understanding of recipe scaling and ingredient ratios Precision in weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients Basic mechanical skill for operating and cleaning kitchen equipment Strong organizational and time management abilities Creativity and passion for desserts and artisanal products Team collaboration and clear communication Attention to detail and consistency under time pressure Ability to lift 40 lbs Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule:
4-6 hour production shifts morning Must be available weekends Flexible hours based on production volume Base Pay for this role: 18$/HR + Tips Part-time or Full-time At Ricco Gelato, we value dedication and craftsmanship.
