JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities Recipe Creation:
Develop new and innovative recipes for a variety of baked goods, including plated desserts, pastries, and breads. execute seasonal or special event dessert and pastry
Baking & Preparation:
Mix ingredients, shape dough, and bake products with precise measurements and techniques.
Decoration & Presentation:
Decorate and plate desserts and pastries using artistic and elevated techniques for visual appeal.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage pastry-specific inventory, ensuring par levels are maintained and ingredients are of top quality.
Sanitation & Safety:
Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards.
Training & Supervision:
Train and mentor junior pastry cooks and assistants, supervising their work and ensuring consistency.
Client Collaboration:
Work with clients on custom orders for events, weddings, and banquets.
Required Skills Culinary Expertise:
Extensive knowledge of baking, pastry-making techniques, and ingredient properties.
Creativity & Artistry:
Artistic ability to create visually appealing and delicious desserts. Attention to
Detail:
Meticulous approach to recipes, measurements, and baking times to ensure consistent results.
Stamina & Organization:
The ability to work long hours on their feet, often in a fast-paced environment, and keep the workspace organized.
Communication:
Strong communication skills to collaborate with chefs and staff, and interact with clients.
Knowledge of Trends:
Staying up-to-date on food trends, dietary restrictions, and dessert concepts.
Work Environment Pace:
Work in a fast-paced, production-oriented kitchen or bakery setting.
Hours:
Often requires early morning starts, and may include working weekends and evenings.
Pay:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
