•Lead from the Front. Cook with Purpose. Are you a hands-on culinary leader who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen? Do you enjoy mentoring teams, producing exceptional food, and creating memorable dining experiences? Join Thomas Cuisine as a Sous Chef at Mission College and help lead a high-volume dining program that serves fresh, scratch-made food to students, faculty, and guests every day. In this role, you'll partner with the Executive Chef to oversee daily culinary operations, coach and develop team members, drive food quality and consistency, and help deliver an outstanding dining experience across campus dining and catering events. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced culinary professional ready to grow their leadership career while staying actively involved in the kitchen. What You'll Do Partner with the Executive Chef to lead daily operations in a busy college dining environment. Work alongside the team during production and service, providing hands-on culinary leadership. Ensure consistent execution of scratch-made recipes, quality standards, and presentation. Train, coach, and motivate culinary team members while fostering a positive kitchen culture. Coordinate production schedules and workflow to support efficient service. Support campus dining, catering events, and special functions. Maintain excellent food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards. Assist with inventory management, ordering, food cost controls, and waste reduction. Ensure proper handling of special diets, allergens, and food-safety procedures. Assume leadership responsibilities in the Executive Chef's absence. What You'll Bring 3+ years of progressive culinary experience, including leadership responsibilities. Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Lead Cook, Kitchen Manager, or similar role preferred. Experience in high-volume foodservice, such as college dining, restaurants, catering, hotels, healthcare, or contract foodservice. Passion for scratch cooking, fresh ingredients, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and perform under pressure during peak service periods. Working knowledge of inventory management, food cost controls, and production systems. ServSafe® Certification, or ability to obtain upon hire. Food Handler Card, if required by state or local regulations. Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
