They follow menus, manage food preparation and storage, and may assist with special events. Additionally, they adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines and participate in training.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Cooking:
Prepares and cooks a variety of foods according to menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
Quality Assurance:
Ensures food is prepared and served at the correct temperature and presentation.
Menu Planning and Management:
Partners with supervisors to review menus, make substitutions, and ensure food supplies are available.
Hygiene and Sanitation:
Maintains a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
Equipment Maintenance:
Partners with dietary staff to ensure equipment is working properly.
Special Events and Parties:
Assists with food preparation for special meals, events, and parties.
Food Storage and Inventory:
Properly stores, rotates, and labels food, as well as assists with inventory management.
Compliance and Training:
Follows facility policies, procedures, and participates in training and staff meetings.
Reporting and Communication:
Reports shortages, equipment malfunctions, and unsafe conditions promptly.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
Works with other kitchen staff, dietary staff, and caregivers. "
