Job Description
Overview This is a seasonal position and we are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital leadership role, you will assist in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service. Duties Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a collaborative and efficient team environment. Manage inventory control and food management processes, including ordering supplies, stock rotation, and minimizing waste through effective cost control measures. Ensure compliance with food safety sanitizing procedures and uphold strict hygiene standards across all kitchen areas. Coordinate catering events and banquet services, ensuring timely and flawless execution of all food service activities. Support menu planning efforts by contributing innovative ideas while maintaining consistency with brand standards. Monitor shift management responsibilities, including scheduling staff, managing workflow, and resolving operational issues promptly. Qualifications Proven experience in fine dining environments with a strong background in food production and culinary arts. Demonstrated supervisory experience managing kitchen teams in high-volume settings such as restaurants or catering operations. Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling techniques. Experience with inventory management, cost control strategies, and kitchen management systems. Skilled in banquet experience, catering coordination, and dietary department requirements. Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills to motivate teams and ensure seamless food service operations. Familiarity with restaurant management practices including menu planning, shift management, and food service management.
