Overview Join our vibrant school community as a School Chef and Support Staff member, where your culinary skills and dedication will directly impact students' well-being and daily experience. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals that meet dietary guidelines, managing kitchen operations, and supporting the overall food service environment. Your enthusiasm for food preparation, team leadership, and commitment to safety will help foster a positive dining atmosphere that promotes health, happiness, and community spirit. Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of nutritious meals in accordance with menu plans, dietary requirements, and safety standards. Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, food handling, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. Supervise support staff and kitchen assistants to ensure efficient food production and service delivery. Manage food service during meal times, ensuring timely distribution of meals to students while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and develop menu options that are both healthy and appealing. Maintain accurate inventory records, order supplies as needed, and control waste to optimize resources. Uphold food safety regulations and ensure all team members follow proper sanitation procedures at all times. Requirements Proven experience in food production, catering, or restaurant management with a focus on school or institutional settings preferred. Strong background in culinary arts, including cooking techniques, menu planning, and kitchen management. Demonstrated supervising experience with the ability to lead a team effectively. Knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and dietary accommodations. Experience with inventory management, food handling, and controlling costs within a food service environment. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage shift schedules and coordinate multiple tasks efficiently. Familiarity with banquet experience or fine dining is a plus; bartending or hospitality experience is advantageous.
