Job Description

We are a quality, learning oriented pre-school located in the Smyrna/Mableton area with an immediate need for a cook/chef. The primary responsibilities of the Preschool chef/cook include:
- Preparing nutritious and appetizing meals, primarily breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack daily for students (and staff) in accordance with USDA guidelines
- Distributing meals to classrooms
- Following dietary restrictions and preferences as provided by parents
- Preparing meals for special occasions.
- Keeping the kitchen clean, sanitized, and organized (including food storage areas)
- Keeping all utensils and appliances clean (i.e., stove, refrigerator, freezer, microwave ovens, etc.)
- Keeping the cafeteria clean after meals
- Keeping inventory regarding food items, ordering food from food vendor(s) and shopping
- May on occasion require stepping into a classroom and/or providing lunch breaks
- Could include driving the bus to pick up children for the afterschool program land for field trips.
Should possess the following skills/training:
- Previous experience as a cook or chef
- Knowledge of USDA food guidelines
- Bright from the Start required training for Kitchen Staff (or willingness to take this training)
- Must be a team player
