Gill Grilling is seeking a hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead the daily culinary operation inside a fraternity or sorority house at the University of Idaho. This position offers the creativity and personal connection of a private-chef environment without the late nights and constant turnover of a traditional restaurant. You will take ownership of your kitchen, get to know the people you cook for, and create meals based on their preferences. Position Overview As the Kitchen Manager, you will lead the chapter's day-to-day food service operation. You will prepare high-quality meals, oversee kitchen staff, manage ordering and inventory, maintain food-safety standards, and ensure that every service runs smoothly. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is self-motivated, organized, and comfortable making decisions independently while still having the support of an experienced regional and operations team.Reports To:
Regional Director What You'll Do Lead daily kitchen operations and deliver timely, high-quality meal service Prepare meals that reflect the chapter's preferences and dietary needs Create and adapt menus with support from company leadership Build a positive, professional relationship with chapter members Supervise kitchen assistants, dishwashers, and other assigned team members Delegate daily responsibilities and help the team stay organized Coordinate food orders and receive vendor deliveries Manage inventory, rotate products using FIFO, and maintain appropriate stock levels Keep the kitchen, storage areas, and equipment clean and organized Ensure compliance with food-safety, sanitation, and company standards Respond calmly and professionally to changing needs or special requests Communicate regularly with company leadership regarding operations and client feedback What We're Looking For Professional cooking or food-service experience Previous kitchen leadership or management experience strongly preferred Strong organization, time-management, and communication skills Experience with food ordering and inventory control A calm, dependable, and solutions-focused leadership style Ability to lead others while remaining willing to work alongside the team Commitment to cleanliness, food safety, and consistent quality ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain it Reliable transportation and consistent attendance Experience in Greek-life dining, campus dining, catering, country clubs, private clubs, or another repeat-client environment is helpful but not required.
