This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable working in the kitchen, maintaining buffet service, helping guests, and stepping in wherever needed to keep an event running smoothly. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, works well under pressure, and takes pride in providing great food and great service. Position Overview As a Catering Cook & Event Service Associate, you will help prepare food, set up and maintain buffet stations, assist guests, keep work areas clean and organized, and support the catering team throughout each event. No two events are exactly the same, so we are looking for someone who is flexible and willing to handle a variety of responsibilities. One moment you may be cooking or prepping food, and the next you may be restocking a buffet, helping a guest, cleaning a station, or assisting with event breakdown. Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to company recipes, standards, and event needs.
  • Assist with food preparation, portioning, and organization before service.
  • Set up buffet stations and ensure they are clean, stocked, organized, and ready for guests.
  • Maintain buffet lines throughout service by replenishing food, replacing serving utensils, and keeping stations presentable.
  • Monitor food temperatures and follow proper procedures for hot and cold food holding.
  • Communicate with kitchen staff when additional food or supplies are needed.
  • Greet and assist guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer basic questions regarding food items and help provide a positive guest experience.
  • Keep kitchen, prep, buffet, and service areas clean and organized throughout the event.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of catering equipment, tables, serving pieces, and supplies.
  • Help with dishwashing, cleaning, packing, loading, and unloading when needed.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
  • Work closely with the entire catering team and be willing to help wherever needed. What We Are Looking For
  • Previous experience in catering, cooking, restaurants, buffets, hospitality, or food service is preferred.
  • Comfortable working with food and interacting with customers.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to stay busy throughout the shift.
  • Dependable and punctual with reliable attendance.
  • Able to stay organized while handling multiple responsibilities.
  • Friendly, professional, and team-oriented.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation is preferred.
  • Ability to follow directions while also taking initiative when something needs to be done.
Physical Requirements This is an active position that requires standing and walking for extended periods. Team members must be able to bend, reach, carry, push, pull, and lift catering supplies, food, and equipment as needed. Schedule Hours will vary based on our catering schedule and event needs. Applicants should have flexibility, as shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Person We Need We are looking for someone who does not believe in saying, "That's not my job." The right person will be willing to cook, clean, stock, serve, organize, help guests, and support coworkers wherever needed. If you enjoy being part of a team, staying active, and helping create a successful event from setup through cleanup, we would like to hear from you.
