Job Description
Lakeview Pavilion, an upscale wedding and special event venue in Foxborough, MA, is seeking an experienced Banquet Production Chef to join our culinary team. This is a full-time, year-round position with a primary focus on hors d'oeuvres and appetizers, cold food production, culinary displays, and other banquet menu items . The Production Chef will work closely with our Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and culinary team to prepare and execute high-quality cuisine for weddings and special events. Schedule This is a full-time, year-round position requiring availability on the weekends, weekdays and weeknights, as well as some holidays , based on our event calendar. The schedule includes both event shifts and production/prep shifts . The majority of events occur Friday through Sunday , but we also host weekday and weeknight events. Weekday non-event shifts are typically focused on production and preparation for upcoming events and average approximately 6 hours , while event shifts generally require longer hours. Specific hours and days off will vary based on the event schedule and business needs Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional kitchen experience Strong understanding of professional food preparation and cooking techniques Proficient knife skills and the ability to work safely and efficiently Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, storage, and proper food-handling procedures Ability to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to prioritize multiple production needs and meet established deadlines Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Positive, professional demeanor and ability to maintain composure during busy event periods Ability to take direction, follow recipes and instructions, and work collaboratively as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in banquet, catering, hotel, or high-volume food production Experience with hors d'oeuvres, appetizers, cold food production, culinary displays, and banquet food presentation Culinary degree, certificate, or equivalent professional training Five or more years of professional culinary experience Key Responsibilities Prepare and execute hors d'oeuvres, appetizers, cold food, culinary displays, and a variety of other banquet menu items according to Lakeview Pavilion's recipes, quality, portioning, and presentation standards Complete advance production and event preparation according to menus, guest counts, recipes, production schedules, and event timelines Prepare and execute assigned menu components for both advance production and event-day service Maintain consistent quality, flavor, portioning, and presentation across high-volume weddings and special events Review daily and upcoming production needs and organize work efficiently to ensure assigned items are completed on schedule Work collaboratively with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, BOH team, Event Managers, and other event staff to support smooth event execution Follow established recipes, preparation methods, portion controls, and presentation standards Maintain clean, sanitary, organized, and properly stocked work and storage areas Follow proper food handling, labeling, storage, temperature control, and sanitation procedures Comply with applicable federal, state, and local food safety and sanitation requirements Properly operate, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment Follow Lakeview Pavilion's policies, procedures, uniform standards, and workplace expectations Assist with other culinary and production responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Manager Physical Requirements Stand and frequently walk for extended periods throughout a shift, which may be up to 12 hours during event operations Frequently bend, crouch, stoop, twist, reach, and perform repetitive kitchen tasks Safely work around hot equipment, sharp utensils, wet surfaces, and varying kitchen temperatures Regularly lift, carry, and place items weighing up to 60 pounds without assistance Regularly push or pull loaded racks and carts weighing up to 100 pounds and, occasionally, heavier equipment or loads with appropriate assistance Safely use stairs or ladders when required to access supplies or work areas Regularly use hands and fingers to handle food, knives, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment
Compensation & Benefits Pay:
$20.00-$30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
