About Us Kelsey's Restaurant is a family owned and operated Irish Pub and Restaurant that has proudly served Howard County for over 30 years. Along with our full-service restaurant and welcoming pub atmosphere, we also provide catering services for a variety of events. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our team and help lead our kitchen, maintain high food-quality standards, and support our culinary operations in a fast paced, team oriented environment.

Full time Job Summary We are looking for a skilled, energetic Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen team. You will work side-by-side with our Executive Chef to ensure our classic Irish comfort food and modern pub favorites are executed perfectly. Key Responsibilities Line Leadership:
Run the line during busy lunch, dinner, and weekend shifts, keeping ticket times low and food quality high.
Menu Execution:
Ensure consistent prep and presentation of scratch-made Irish classics (e.g., fish & chips, shepherd's pie, corned beef) and contemporary pub fare.
Staff Management:
Assist in training, scheduling, and mentoring line cooks and prep staff to maintain a positive, efficient kitchen culture.
Inventory & Ordering:
Assist in managing kitchen inventory, minimize food waste, and order supplies to stay stocked for peak weekend rushes.
Safety & Sanitation:
Keep the kitchen, walk-ins, and prep areas clean and compliant with all local health department regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications Experience:
2+ years of culinary leadership experience in a high-volume, casual dining restaurant or busy pub.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of classic pub cooking techniques, knife skills, portion control, and operating standard kitchen line equipment.
Leadership:
Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of motivating a team under pressure.
Availability:
Flexibility to work a mix of morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
