The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, with expertise in sushi preparation, food safety, and kitchen operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft authentic sushi dishes in a fine dining environment, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi, maintaining cleanliness standards, and contributing to menu innovation. Duties Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards Ensure the freshness and quality of all ingredients used in sushi preparation Maintain proper food handling and safety procedures at all times Plan and develop menu items that align with restaurant themes and customer preferences Manage ingredient inventory, restocking supplies as needed Assist in kitchen organization, cleanliness, and sanitation to meet health regulations Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative sushi offerings and seasonal specials Provide excellent food service by ensuring timely delivery of dishes to guests Uphold high standards of knife skills, food presentation, and overall culinary craftsmanship Support catering events or special functions involving sushi or Japanese cuisine Requirements Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within the food industry, preferably in fine dining or restaurant settings Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures Expertise in sushi making, including knife skills and ingredient preparation Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment Prior experience in catering or serving Japanese cuisine is desirable Culinary training or certification related to Japanese cuisine or sushi is preferred This position offers an engaging environment for culinary professionals passionate about Japanese cuisine and high-quality food service.
