We are looking for dependable, hardworking kitchen professionals who take pride in consistency, cleanliness, and teamwork. Position Overview House of Umami is seeking a skilled Chef / Line Cook with strong experience working on a flat-top griddle and fryer station. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality menu items while maintaining speed, organization, and food safety standards during busy service periods. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, communicates well with teammates, and takes ownership of their station. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to House of Umami recipes and standards Operate and manage griddle and fryer stations efficiently during service Maintain proper food quality, portioning, and presentation Set up and stock stations before service and properly close stations after shifts Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures Monitor food temperatures and product freshness Keep kitchen stations clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout shifts Assist with prep work, inventory organization, and kitchen cleaning duties Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams Maintain consistency and urgency during high-volume service Qualifications Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen preferred Strong griddle and fryer cooking experience required Experience with Japanese cuisine, ramen, stir-fry, or fry stations is a plus Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure Strong attention to detail and cleanliness Dependable attendance and punctuality Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs What We Offer Competitive hourly pay Growth opportunities within our restaurant group Fast-paced and team-focused work environment Employee meal discounts Flexible scheduling
