Job Description :

Will be responsible for providing supportive leadership to kitchen staff throughout food service. Duties will include assisting the Head Chef in monitoring kitchen activities, ensuring food quality, taste, and presentation standards are being met, and taking on additional responsibilities in the Head Chef's absence to ensure that kitchen staff has proper direction.

Duties will include:

Preparing meals and food to meet the specifications of guests in a timely manner Properly measuring kitchen ingredients and food portions Ensuring kitchen staff adhere to set standards, procedures, department rules and sanitation requirements Using kitchen knives and equipment such as grills, ovens, steamers and warmers in food preparation Ensuring proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward Keeping the workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized and sanitized Taking charge of kitchen opening, closing and other side duties as directed by the Head Chef when necessary Assisting with kitchen organization and inventory Qualifications & Requirements ServSafe or local food handler certification 3+ years of professional kitchen experience, with 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Strong multitasking, high-volume batch cooking, logistics coordination, and clear communication with staff and Head Chef Ability to stand for 8 hours and lift heavy equipment or food crates (50+ lbs)

Pay:

$18.00 - $30.00 per hour
