Job Description
The Froggy Dog is a long-established restaurant on North Carolina's Outer Banks, with roots dating back to the early 1970s as a hot dog stand. Today, it is a 200-seat, full-service restaurant destination known for seafood, hospitality, consistency, and a large scratch-made menu. This is an opportunity to lead an established, high-volume restaurant while shaping elevated culinary experiences that go beyond day-to-day service. The Executive Chef will have the chance to influence seasonal menus, create memorable chef-driven events, including Chef Tables and 5-Course Wine Dinners. We are seeking an Executive Chef with strong leadership experience, high-volume kitchen expertise, and a passion for culinary excellence. This role is ideal for a chef who can lead a fast-paced operation while also driving elevated, guest-facing culinary experiences. The right candidate will bring a balance of operational discipline, team leadership, and creative vision. You will take ownership of chef's tables and monthly wine dinners, from concept through execution, while maintaining the quality, consistency, and standards expected across all services. Required 2+ years of experience as an Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef. Experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant environment. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and team development skills. Proven ability to manage food cost, labor, inventory, and kitchen systems. Comfort with Microsoft Office and other common computer programs. ServSafe Food Manager certification. Preferred Background in fine dining or Michelin-level kitchens. Experience with tasting menus, chef's tables, or wine dinner programming. Strong foundation in classical and modern culinary technique, plating, and ingredient sourcing. Strong knowledge of wine, including varietals, regions, and food pairing. Experience with seafood and coastal cuisine. Pastry experience is a plus.
