Responsibilities Carefully prepare sushi ingredients, including fish, rice, vegetables, and garnishes, following established recipes and safety standards. Skillfully roll sushi using proper techniques to ensure consistency, presentation, and quality. Assist in menu planning by suggesting new roll ideas and maintaining ingredient freshness. Operate kitchen equipment such as rice cookers, knives, and sushi mats safely and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations according to food safety sanitizing procedures. Support high-volume food production during busy service hours while adhering to recipe adherence and portion control. Follow all food handling guidelines to ensure safe and hygienic food preparation practices. Experience Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, especially with dietary aide or culinary experience related to sushi or fine dining. Familiarity with food safety management and sanitizing procedures is essential. Experience with food preparation techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and cooking is highly valued. Knowledge of operating kitchen equipment safely in a fast-paced environment is important. Proven ability to work efficiently in high-volume production settings while maintaining quality standards. Strong knife skills and experience with recipe adherence are key for success in this role.
