Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Recreational Chef Instructor Part-time(weekends and evenings) to lead culinary and creative arts activities within our youth programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in culinary arts combined with experience in teaching and engaging children and adolescents. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire young minds through hands-on cooking classes, arts, and performance-based activities, fostering skill development and confidence in a supportive environment. Duties Teach recreational classes and special events Demonstrate techniques and concepts in conformity with ICE lesson plans Deliver clear, concise and organized lectures Aid student / guest performance through observation and interaction Maintain a positive, focused learning environment during class Assure that classes are conducted in a manner that complies with principles of food safety, sanitation and beverage management Preparation, set- up and breakdown of class ingredients and equipment Experience working with people with disabilities |Autism
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Culinary diploma or some form of formal Culinary Education Minimum of 2-4 years culinary experience Prior teaching experience preferred Culinary and pastry background preferred Flexible schedule (weekends and evenings) to accommodate classes and event schedules Fine dining experience preferred Must possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills required Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, strong presentation and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to interact in a collaborative manner with other departments and teams Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel Join us at the Family Center for Achievement as we cultivate creativity and life skills through innovative culinary and arts programming that enriches the lives of our youth participants!
Pay:
$25.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 - 16.0 per week
