We are currently seeking a Pastry Cook to support our Long Island City-based operations and contribute to the production of high-quality desserts for a wide range of events. ROLE OVERVIEW

The Pastry Cook works closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to prepare and execute desserts for high-end events including weddings, gala dinners, cocktail receptions, and corporate catering. This role focuses on delivering consistent, high-quality pastry production while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and efficiency within the pastry kitchen. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and is eager to learn and grow within a professional kitchen. This role requires flexibility, including availability for morning, evening, weekend, and occasional holiday shifts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Pastry Chef in producing a wide variety of desserts and baked goods for events and catering orders Execute prep lists accurately and efficiently to meet production timelines Maintain consistency in product quality, presentation, and portioning Support proper storage, labeling, and rotation of products (FIFO) to ensure freshness and food safety Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry station and kitchen areas Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries Collaborate with culinary team members during high-volume production periods Communicate any issues or concerns to Pastry Chef, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef in a timely manner Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards to maintain compliance with NYC DOH regulations Support overall kitchen operations as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 1 year of pastry experience in a high-volume kitchen preferred Knowledge of basic pastry techniques and strong attention to detail Ability to follow recipes and execute prep lists with accuracy Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Willingness to learn, take direction, and continuously improve Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively NYC Food Handler's Certificate preferred Ability to lift up to 20-40 pounds Ability to stand for extended periods of time Reliable, punctual, and organized

CLASSIFICATION, COMPENSATION & PAY

Seasonal / Part-time, on-call, non-exempt position Competitive hourly rate: $22

•25/hr (based on experience) Eligible for overtime pay at 1.5x regular rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek Weekly payroll
