Job Summary We are looking for a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef specializing in omakase to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will craft exquisite, high-quality sushi dishes that highlight your mastery of traditional techniques and innovative presentation. The ideal candidate will bring a deep love for Japanese cuisine, a keen eye for detail, and experience working in fine dining or high-volume sushi environments. Your expertise will elevate our guests' dining experience through meticulous preparation, artistic plating, and exceptional service. Responsibilities Prepare and assemble sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision, adhering to authentic recipes and presentation standards. Develop and refine omakase menus that showcase seasonal ingredients and culinary creativity. Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitizing procedures, and kitchen cleanliness to ensure a safe dining environment. Operate specialized kitchen equipment such as rice cookers, knives, and fish filleting tools with skill and care. Manage ingredient quality control, including fish handling, poaching, braising, grilling, and food production techniques. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver an exceptional dining experience tailored to guest preferences. Follow recipe adherence meticulously while maintaining consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation across all dishes. Qualifications Proven experience as a sushi chef or in a similar role within fine dining or high-volume sushi restaurants. Strong knife skills and expertise in food preparation techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and meal preparation. Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures specific to seafood handling and sushi preparation. Experience with menu planning and culinary innovation within Japanese cuisine or omakase settings. Ability to operate kitchen equipment efficiently while maintaining a clean workspace. Familiarity with dietary department standards and catering experience is a plus. Passion for culinary arts with a focus on quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction. $26.47 - $34.27 per hour
