Job Description

Join our team of dedicated culinary professionals in the food service industry! Loafers Station -- a historic downtown Albany institution for 27 years -- seeks a skilled Lead Line Cook to assist with food preparation and cooking tasks. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive high-quality meals that meet their expectations. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about food and enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with opportunities for career growth as we move into the busy summer season! This is an evening position - typical work hours are approximately 3:00 - 10:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.
Duties:
Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards Provide servant leadership to other line cooks, dishwashers and expos Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and slicing ingredients Work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure consistent quality in the evening service hours Follow proper food handling and safety procedures Maintain a clean and organized work area Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient service Assist with catering events as needed
Skills:
Proficient in food preparation techniques and knife skills Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations, and faithful adherence to Linn County food safety rules Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines Strong communication and teamwork skills Flexibility to work in different areas of the kitchen as needed Previous experience in the food service or catering industry We offer competitive pay rates based on experience and opportunities for career growth within our restaurant.
