In this role, you will be responsible for preparing authentic and high-quality sushi dishes that delight our guests and uphold our commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, precision, and a deep understanding of Japanese culinary traditions to our kitchen. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise in sushi artistry while contributing to a dynamic dining environment. Duties Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese-inspired dishes with attention to detail and presentation Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used efficiently to minimize waste Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new sushi recipes and menu items that excite our guests Monitor inventory levels of seafood, rice, seaweed, and other essential ingredients, placing orders as needed Train junior staff on sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and proper handling of ingredients Uphold safety procedures in the kitchen, including proper knife handling and equipment use Skills Extensive experience working with seafood and preparing sushi dishes at a professional level Strong knowledge of Japanese culinary techniques and traditional sushi preparation methods Excellent knife skills and precision in ingredient portioning and presentation Ability to develop creative sushi recipes and adapt to seasonal ingredients Experience managing kitchen stations and supervising junior team members Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and health regulations Strong organizational skills for inventory management and order placement Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality Passion for culinary arts with a focus on authentic Asian cuisine and innovative plating techniques Experience working with diverse dietary needs and accommodating special requests Join us as a Sushi Chef to craft exceptional dining experiences through your artistry in sushi making.
