Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing authentic sushi and Japanese dishes with precision, creativity, and consistency. Your expertise will help deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests, showcasing your mastery of sushi techniques and food presentation. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Responsibilities Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere strictly to food safety sanitizing procedures and hygiene regulations Operate kitchen equipment such as sushi rollers, knives, rice cookers, and refrigeration units safely and efficiently Maintain consistency in recipe adherence while demonstrating excellent knife skills and fine dining presentation techniques Assist with menu planning by suggesting innovative sushi options and seasonal specials based on ingredient availability Manage high-volume production during busy service hours while maintaining quality standards Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations, including food production, plating, and timely service Experience Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or fine dining environment Strong background in food preparation, including poaching, braising, grilling, and meal preparation techniques Demonstrated knowledge of food safety management practices and food handling procedures in a high-volume setting Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Prior experience working in the food industry with a focus on culinary excellence and recipe adherence Dietary department experience or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required Excellent knife skills combined with a passion for culinary arts and attention to detail Join us to bring your sushi expertise to life in a vibrant setting where your skills will shine!
