Job Description

Blue Mountain Brewery is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Assistant Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This leadership position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, leads by example, and enjoys working side-by-side with their team to deliver high-quality food and exceptional guest experiences. What We Offer Competitive salary of $62,500-$67,000 annually 401(k) with company match Food Cost and Volume Based Bonuses Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Sick leave Employee discount program Opportunity to work with a talented team in a dynamic brewery and hospitality environment Responsibilities The Assistant Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and restaurant leadership team to: Assist with daily kitchen operations and food production Lead, train, and support kitchen team members Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, consistency, and execution Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards Help manage inventory, ordering, food costs, and waste Assist with scheduling, labor management, and daily staffing needs Step into a leadership role during the Executive and Sous Chef's absence Work hands-on in all areas of the kitchen and lead by example Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: A minimum of 5 years of professional culinary experience Previous kitchen management or supervisory experience Current ServSafe certification Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills A hands-on approach and willingness to work alongside the kitchen team Experience in high-volume, fast-paced food service environments A passion for quality food, teamwork, and continuous improvement The ability to maintain composure and make sound decisions in a busy kitchen environment If you're an experienced culinary professional who enjoys leading a team while staying actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, we'd love to hear from you.
